Learn 6 Ways To Be a Champion For Foster Youth and Young Adults.

For the month of May, to show our support for Foster Care Month, we will be highlighting young adults and sharing their experiences as an advocate for foster youth. Read Desaray’s story below:

DesarayBlogpost“I want to challenge and encourage our state and communities to provide a meaningful, healthy and happy life for foster care youth.”

Desaray is at the forefront when it comes to advocating for improved outcomes for foster youth in Arizona. Currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Social Work at Arizona State University, Desaray takes an active role in challenging and encouraging the state of Arizona to create policies and laws that encourage healthy outcomes for young adults in care. She is not shy when it comes to representing her fellow foster care alumni, whether she’s quoted in the ASU News or speaking at the Arizona State Capitol about the importance of post-secondary education and support for foster youth.
