Important Things To Know

Young Adult Transitional Insurance (YATI) is an Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) plan that provides no-cost or low cost health coverage (by the way, AHCCCS is Arizona’s Medicaid). You can apply for YATI at any time during the year.

Who’s Eligible for YATI?

  • Were in Arizona’s foster care system or in Tribal foster care in Arizona on your 18th birthday
  • Currently live in Arizona
  • Meet citizenship requirements or qualified immigration requirements

Are you currently in foster care and close to turning 18, or already 18 or over? Talk to your DCS Child Safety Specialist about YATI.

How Do I Sign Up? You can get assistance signing up for YATI from your DCS Specialist, Tribal Social Service worker, or contact:

  • Keogh Health Connection – (602) 266-0397
  • Cover Arizona
You can apply online on your own by going to Health-e-Arizona Plus: www.healthearizonaplus.gov
How Do I Keep My Coverage? The Young Adult Leadership Board advocated and worked with policy makers to make it so you only need to apply once. We still encourage that you check yearly to make sure your coverage is active as there have been cases of youth having their coverage accidentally discontinued. For this process you’ll check at Health-e-Arizona Plus: www.healthearizonaplus.gov

Adrian_MegaphoneHey, Community Partners and Service Providers! Help spread the word about YATI to the young adults you serve. Below are printable handouts and other materials.
